For this game, you need NOT just the Wii console number, but also the Mario Kart License number! This can be found when you start the game and you click on your license, or when you go into the Nintendo WFC option, or the Mario Kart Channel option. When you go into the Nintendo WFC option, choose 'Friends' and then click on 'Register a Friend'. Once you do that, then you enter their Mario Kart License #, NOT their Wii Console #. Once you both have entered each others' MK License #'s, then you can find whomever is online, or you can create a private room and you guys race. My Mario Kart License # is 5112-3801-4368.
