I found no diminished sonics and actually because the Marantz is IMHO is a better unit over all then the Integra SACD's sound terrific. If this is the reason you are holding back buying the AV7005 I would say it is a non issue and go for it. Just to add my tuppence to this one: I have an Onkyo 905 which I used to use DSD with my SACDs from my Oppo 83SE, I have been comparing this to running PCM from the OPPO to the Marantz and I prefer the Marantz by some margin. The reason is simply that, in order to do any DSP of any kind, all units must use PCM, either fed direct from the player or converted on-board. Like many of you, REALLY enjoying the AV7005! Great value for the $$$$! After a week of subtle tweaking, I'm beginning to prefer Dolby PLIIz over PLIIx, the only problem, I have a very large room and I miss the back surround channels that are cancelled when the front high speakers are activated.
